California-based e-tailer Combatant Gentlemen has opened its first retail store today, July 20 at Santa Monica Place in Santa Monica, California.

The 2,220-square foot store will display the company’s entire ready-to-wear collection of men’s apparel, accessories and footwear. It will provide customers with Made-to-Order suiting that will be available from in-store touchscreen displays, as well as custom suiting made by appointment and in-store tailoring. The store’s interior will be sleek and industrial with raw steel, muted hues, and dark woods.

“We are creating an experimental space that reflects and celebrates the company as a whole,” said Vishaal Melwani, CEO, creative director, and co-founder of the company. “We’ve experimented with pop-up shops, traveling Made-to-Measures and other temporary offline experiences, and they have all been hugely successful. And creating retail stores have been on the top of our minds since the company was born.”

Added Kevin Campos, the company’s chief retail officer: “Our goal is to roll out stores throughout the country, and setting up our first shop in Santa Monica will allow us to test the waters using the company’s direct resources available here – everything from our homegrown technology and marketing to operations and productions.”

In addition to an official opening part on Wednesday night, that is open to the public, other special events include “The Art of Cocktails” on the evening of July 22; “Beer & BBQ” on the afternoon of July 23, and “Sunday Funday” on the afternoon of July 24.
