NEW YORK – Keanan Duffty, the New York-based British fashion designer, has joined Lanier Clothes, a unit of Oxford Industries, as design and merchandising consultant for the Ben Sherman Tailored Clothing collection.

“We have worked with Keanan for several years on outstanding projects and appreciate his distinctive talents in design and merchandising,” said Dana Verrill, president of Oxford’s Lanier Group. “Collaborating with Ben Sherman tailored clothing is a precise fit.”

Duffty established his own firm in 1999, and his KD collection has been showcased in such better retailers as Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, Maxfield, Fred Segal and Harvey Nichols.

Oxford purchased Ben Sherman from 3i and Enterprise Equity in 2004 for cash consideration of about $146 million. Ben Sherman was founded in England in 1963 and became the shirtmaker of choice for many of the stars of the British Invasion, including the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
