EQUINOX TEAMS UP WITH ÁWET NEW YORK FOR AN EXCLUSIVE COLLABORATION
Global high-performance luxury lifestyle brand, Equinox, has teamed up with emerging designer Áwet Woldegebriel, founder of Áwet New York, for a collaboration launching today. The New York-based designer curated the capsule collection, which includes both men’s and women’s styles, for everyday living where style and comfort live in harmony.
Equinox has had a large influence on Woldegebriel’s life and daily routine, so the collection was formed through his journey of utilizing the club as more than a space for fitness. For Woldegebriel, it is a place he works and creates, as well as a place to play and rejuvenate. The designer also recently collaborated with The Standard hotel, and was part of Saks’ designer accelerator program this year.
Woldegebriel founded Áwet New York in 2020 to create “livewear” pieces. It wasn’t activewear or leisurewear, but things you couldn’t live without that also speak to where you are in life – and in 2020 life was in a hoodie.
“I was delighted to meet Awet through a mutual friend. We instantly forged a connection that felt as if we had known each other for years. The Equinox x Áwet New York Collection is a 15–piece capsule, grounded in Áwet’s signature soft tailoring design ethos. Pieces include the brand’s original G. District hoodie in an exclusive chambray colorway, super soft T-shirts, sophisticated outerwear featuring wool and cashmere, and an iconic letterman jacket with sizes ranging from XXS – XXL. Retails range from $95 to $750.
