Fashion’s Night Out at Opening Ceremony/Ace Hotel
Who better to conquer Fashion’s Night Out with than my favorite shopping buddy Jamel. We decided to avoid the downtown madness and hit up the Opening Ceremony at the Ace Hotel festivities on 29th and Broadway. Together they hosted the Argentinean-inspired el mercado de carnaval de Opening Ceremony. The Carnival was held inside the lobby of the hotel and spilled out onto the street with vendors, carnival games, food and drinks. (When we arrived at 6pm there was already a line of stylishly dressed people wrapped around the corner waiting to get in.) Brands like Jansport, Riviera Club, Gitman Bros., Havaianas, Alexander Wang and Keds had dedicated booths of carnival games, there was a photobooth in the lobby where shoppers posed for pictures that were uploaded to Opening Ceremony’s Tumblr page and Miss Piggy even made an appearance (which must have something to do with the new Muppets line sold at Opening Ceremony…).
