FERN MALLIS WELCOMES TODD SNYDER TO FASHION ICONS SERIES

by John Russel Jones

Fern Mallis, the author of Fashion Lives: Fashion Icons and the creator and organizer of Fashion Week in New York City, has invited designer Todd Snyder, hot off his acclaimed Pitti Uomo runway show, to her Fashion Icons series at New York City’s 92nd Street Y on Tuesday, March 19th. Tickets to the event are $25.

Since launching his eponymous brand in 2011, Snyder has dressed some of the biggest names in the world and firmly established his position as America’s leading menswear designer. Just last month, Guy Trebay, men’s fashion critic for the New York Times, called Snyder “…the righteous inheritor of Ralph Lauren’s mantle.

In addition to his own brand, Snyder was recently appointed Creative Director of Woolrich Black Label, the iconic 190-year-old American brand’s collection of sophisticated takes on heritage styles, which will launch in fall 2024. The Iowa native has been honored with some of the highest accolades in fashion, including being selected as one of GQ’s Best New Designers in America, one of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists, and nominated four times as a CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year.

Mallis, the former senior vice president of IMG Fashion and executive director of CFDA, has interviewed fashion VIPs such as Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Betsey Johnson, Polly Mellen, and Bruce Weber. She is currently the president of her own fashion and design consultancy, Fern Mallis LLC.
