Five Ways Retail May Evolve After The Pandemic
When the pandemic hit the U.S. in March 2020, 90% of our national retail clients announced they were shutting down. As they reopened weeks or months later, our goal was to help them remain open and restore consumer confidence. I believe our industry succeeded in this goal, as evidenced by the increased year-over-year holiday shopping sales. We integrated a variety of strategies, like contactless shopping and curbside pickup, that altered how in-person retail operates. With these changes in place, many of our retail partners have seen increased year-over-year foot traffic. Now, as the vaccine is distributed and we start to come out of this pandemic, some of those fundamental pandemic-response tactics will fade. But several lessons were learned, and evolving strategies will be vital to success as the retail industry plans for a post-pandemic life. Read more at Forbes.
