GLADSON’S ALAN WERTHEIM CELEBRATES 35 YEARS IN THE TEXTILE WORLD
Textile company Gladson New York is celebrating its senior account executive Alan Wertheim on his 35th anniversary with the company. Wertheim started his career when fabric was sold as ‘stock’.
“Alan’s roots in our industry go back to a time when tailors actually made their suits by hand,” said Michael Solomon, CEO of Gladson New York. “It was a different era and a lot has changed since then. Alan is one of the few people in the industry who knew what it was like ‘back then’. He was mentored by a man named Joe Telesca, who was a fine gentleman and perhaps one of the best salesmen in the industry. It was Alan’s good fortune to learn his trade and hone his selling skills by assisting Mr. Telesca whose specialty was ‘selling stock’.
Solomon continued: “To this day, Alan specializes in this technique and is one of the few sellers in the industry who retains this skill. This is just one of the many special talents that makes Alan a ‘living legend in our industry’. He has been a mentor and friend to many and I want to congratulate Alan on the impact he has made in the industry for being an icon in the textile world.”
