Glen Senk Named CEO of Urban Outfitters
NEW YORK – Glen Senk, president of the Anthropologie and Free People brands of Urban Outfitters, has been promoted to the new post of chief executive officer of the corporation.
Senk joined the company in 1994 as president of Anthropologie, which at the time was a one-store experiment, and has overseen its growth into a 95-unit concept. He added responsibility for the Free People operation, which does the majority of its business as a wholesaler, in 2003. He has been a member of UO’s board of directors since 2004.
Richard Hayne, who continues as chairman and president of the company, called Senk “a gifted merchant and has earned the right to lead our three brands. I am confident that under his leadership our company will continue to grow and prosper.”
In addition to Anthropologie and Free People, UO, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, operates 110 Urban Outfitters stories as well as web sites and catalogs for its three brands.
