GOLA CLASSICS GOES VEGAN

by Stephen Garner

Gola Classics, the British heritage sportswear brand, has introduced a vegan initiative for the fall/winter 2019 season. The brand has launched a small capsule collection of vegan styles in collaboration with the world’s oldest vegan organization, the Vegan Society. Each style in the new vegan range has been registered by the Vegan Society, to ensure that these styles have the vegan seal of approval and assurance for consumers.

All of Gola’s vegan options have also endured Ve-MAP chemical testing, a new DNA-based testing procedure within the Chem-MAP family that identifies any trace of animal DNA from chemicals within the manufacturing process. This includes chemicals used in the fabrics, other materials such as the sole, dyes, adhesives, and finishing components.

“In recent years, we have seen a rise in demand for vegan products, and we have been approached by many consumers enquiring about vegan options within our range,” said Donna Hill, head of marketing at Jacobson Group, the parent company of Gola Classics. “We felt it was time to fill that gap and create a collection that can cater to all consumers.”

Various colorways of the Tennis Mark Cox, Coaster, Coaster Rainbow, Varsity, among other styles across men’s, women’s, and kids are included in the vegan range. The fall/winter 2019 vegan styles, which retail from $45 to $65, are now live on the Gola USA website.
