HOW TO DRESS NOW: CATCHING UP WITH KITON CHAIRMAN MASSIMO BIZZOCCHI
Many years back, MR interviewed Kiton’s Massimo Bizzocchi, comparing the contents of his closet in Naples to the closet in his NYC apartment. As one might imagine, the two wardrobes were both stylishly classic but considerably distinct from one another. Here, we catch up with the always-fashionable Kiton chairman to ascertain what’s in his closet these days.
“Like everyone these past few years, my wardrobe has become smaller, not due to clothing shrinkage (or weight change) but thanks to the new ways men are putting outfits together. The pleasure of dressing in 2024 comes from the fact that a few favorite pieces can be creatively mixed and accessorized for various business, leisure, and social occasions.
“Starting from the bottom up, a current male wardrobe might include:
- More sneakers so you can donate or recycle the old, worn ones.
- New pants to supplement iconic jeans, from straight or narrow legs to modified bell bottoms.
- New belts in different widths, colors, and artistic buckles.
- Knitwear, including luxury T-shirts and sweaters.
- A fresh assortment of neckwear, now embraced by a new generation of men looking to upgrade their image.
- Dress shirts: new collar styles will have dress shirts competing with T-shirts for under a sport coat.
- Jackets: three years of strong selling in DBs!
- Suits featuring double-pleated pants and narrow bottoms, on-trend and comfortable!
- Scarves: lightweight fancy silks replace boring ties.
- Outerwear: different styles for different occasions, including more patterned overcoats.
“A personal note and suggestion: I’m using the trunk of my SUV to stock my new wardrobe since my wife has taken over all our closets and other cars…”
Bravo Massimo! Your personal style has always been incredible! All the best!
Ya Mon FEEL THE RHYTHM, FEEL THE HEAT, THAT (en gumba ?) THAT HANDSOME DUDE CANT BE BEAT!!
Fashion is fleeting, Style is forever!! Well done my friend , Eliot
Massimo you are absolutely correct! Less is more. The past was about the quantity of what you owned. Now you can be creative and mix more categories together. Much more relaxed in your wardrobing approach.
You could say everything goes.
