HUNTER BOOTS RELEASES SECOND STYLE IN CREATORS SERIES

by John Russel Jones

OK, I know I should be used to this, but I am still always shocked when, the day after Halloween, the skeletons and pumpkins get dumped into storage and out come the metallic Christmas trees and electronic menorahs, and the LED snowflakes get hung from the streetlamps with care. Can somebody pick me up a skinny grande peppermint mocha with oat milk, please?

Better to just embrace the season and get into the holiday spirit, I suppose. Hunter Boots certainly has! The official rain/gardening/winter boot of the United Kingdom (founded in 1856, Hunter, renowned for its iconic original boot, holds two Royal Warrants of Appointment to HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh: seems apropos with yesterday’s release of Season 5 of “The Crown”) has just released the latest in its  limited-edition artist series, Hunter Creators, this time featuring the artist work of Justin Gilzene (aka CLUB BUM).

Upon close inspection, you’ll see the motif is actually apropos year-round — artfully applied tea roses and leaves — but the red and green palette will certainly be appreciated right now.

In the second installment of the series, CLUB BUM has crafted one-of-a-kind pairs of Hunter’s beloved Original Tall Rain Boots that are finished with a sculptural floral appliqué along the backstrap. An iconic Hunter silhouette, this natural rubber tall boot is handcrafted and assembled over three days on an aluminum last bespoke to Hunter.  Available in Men’s and Women’s sizing in limited quantities, the Club Bum  X HUNTER BOOTS Original Tall boots are priced at $250 USD on hunterboots.com.

Gilzene is a contemporary visual artist from the Bronx, New York. His style incorporates the use of acrylic paint in the building of textures and handcrafted sculptures and often draws upon pop culture, historical references, and his background in the culinary arts.

Ho-ho-ho and all that stuff, as they say!
