NEW YORK – Denim and sportswear company I.C. Isaacs & Company, Inc. announced that its interim CEO Robert S. Stec, a former independent board member, will stay on as the company’s permanent chief executive. The company also announced the three-year extension of its license to design and market apparel for the Marithé & François Girbaud brand. The license will be effective through 2014.

Stec said in a statement: “I am very excited to continue in this role over the long term. Over the past five months as Interim CEO, I’ve become convinced in the excellent opportunity for this brand and this business in the US market. We believe we can build a significant presence in both the contemporary and urban market segments both with our Girbaud and Le Jean initiatives as well as through signing new licenses that will leverage our operating platform. We have a strong talent base within the company and a special relationship with Marithé and François, who provide excellent creative direction, and we are confident in our ability to execute and regain profitability.”
