IN THE MARKET: REPORT COLLECTION

by Karen Alberg Grossman

There’s plenty of excitement going on at Report Collection, with a definite focus on sustainability. Shirts are made from recycled water bottles; and the poly/spandex performance fabric provides four-way stretch while helping to save our oceans.

Also noteworthy: the use of modal, a sustainable fiber made of beach tree pulp. These garments are naturally breathable, super soft, and of course eco-friendly. We also loved a packable sport jacket and cool linen pants, available in waist and inseam sizes, as part of Report Collection’s expansion into Tailored Clothing for spring ’24. A personal favorite: the Sunset x Vine collection of cabana sets (retro-inspired swimwear shorts and matching tops at $68 each) are on-trend and super fun!

For those unfamiliar with Report Collection, its parent company Modextil Inc. is a Montreal-based business built upon quality product, customer service, and family. “We’re known for our passion for product and attention to detail,” says company president Alex Abitan, who took over at the helm from his dad Henri and was recently joined in the showroom by savvy menswear exec Jason Hochman.

What’s more, 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of Modextil’s Victor Emmanuel collection, a terrific line with Italian roots and plenty of history. (Victor Emmanuel was the first king of Italy!) The collection features digitally printed knit shirts in nylon/spandex and jersey knit shirts in a fine cotton/spandex blend at suggested retails of $125—tech shirts for discerning customers. Also selling well: Victor Emmanuel double-breasted knit sport coats, retailing between $495 and $595 at select stores.

Aside from shopping numerous well-priced collections of on-trend men’s fashion, you’ll want to stop by this fabulous 40th Street Bryant Park showroom for one of the best views in all Manhattan. Check it out!
