J.MCLAUGHLIN TO OPEN NEW MEN’S ONLY STORE IN PALM BEACH

by John Russel Jones

American sportswear brand J.McLaughlin opened a new men’s only retail location in Palm Beach on Worth Avenue today. This destination marks the first true men’s only store to open in the 46-year history of the brand and the third retail location in the Palm Beach market. With plans for more menswear locations in the future, the Palm Beach retail opening serves as a nod to the company’s continued focus on its men’s category and the male customer. J.McLaughlin previously converted its Bridgehampton store to a men’s only location in August 2023.

“We are thrilled to open our first J.McLaughlin men’s store in Palm Beach on the iconic Worth Avenue,” shared Kevin McLaughlin, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer at J.McLaughlin. “There’s no better way to tell the J.McLaughlin story than in a shop, and our handsome new addition will provide a unique experience for our customers. Every detail has been carefully curated – from artwork to furniture. Many don’t know this, but when my brother Jay and I started J.McLaughlin in 1977, we actually began as a menswear business, which is why I am excited to showcase our men’s collection in a fresh way again with this new store.”

Given the long history and loyal customers in this market, Palm Beach is the ideal location for the brand to open its first menswear store to be of service to the current J.McLaughlin male customers, as well as attract new brand enthusiasts. J.McLaughlin has been expanding the men’s collection since 2021 with a focus on enhancing cut, silhouette, styling, and colors, as well as upgrading its accessories and collaborating with companies, such as Stubbs & Wootten and esteemed English shoemaker Sanders.

The 488-square-foot retail space offers a full menswear experience with a wider selection of J.McLaughlin men’s apparel and accessories, including the brand’s best sellers and pieces from the most recent product drop – the Holiday 2023 collection and resort styles, such as linen shirts, novelty printed
pants and shorts, sport coats and polos. The open and airy store also features mid-century lighting, soft gray stripes that run from the ceiling to the floor in the center of the store, beautiful cerused oak cabinets, white and gray marble tiles, and ficus trees.
