JEFF STAPLE JOINS FORCES WITH NEW YORK FOREVER IN SUPPORT OF THE ASIAN COMMUNITY

by Stephen Garner

In solidarity with the fight against anti-Asian racism and xenophobia, and to amplify the efforts to further support and uplift the impacted Asian community in New York, Jeff Staple of Reed Art Department and Staple Pigeon is partnering with New York Forever to release a limited-edition shirt benefitting the non-profit organization Welcome to Chinatown

As the city faced the depths of hardship caused by COVID-19 and awoke to long-endured racial and economic inequalities, New York Forever was founded to commit to building a better future for New York, one that leaves the city stronger and more equitable than ever before. As an Asian-American and native New Yorker who built his career and his brand on the streets of the city, Staple has first-hand experience of the resiliency that embodies New York in the face of tragic adversities, especially when people of all neighborhoods band together as New Yorkers, first and foremost.

Together, Staple and New York Forever are calling on everyone to join forces, stand up against hate, and stand beside our family and friends in the community that are facing racial inequalities, discrimination and violence.

The special-edition shirt features the “NY Forever” logo written in Chinese in a bold yellow font that evokes an homage to the first New York hip-hop group that showed love to Asian culture—Wu-Tang Clan. Below this graphic is a subtle silhouette of the unofficial mascot of NYC—the iconic Staple Pigeon emblem.

The limited-quantity t-shirt is now available to purchase on staplepigeon.com and nyforever.nyc for $40, with 100 percent of net proceeds donated to Welcome to Chinatown.
