JOHN RUSSEL JONES JOINS WAINSCOT MEDIA AS DIGITAL AND FASHION EDITOR FOR MR MAGAZINE
John Russel Jones joins the MR Magazine and Wainscot Media team as its Digital and Fashion Editor today. He’ll work with Karen Alberg Grossman, MR’s Editor-in-Chief, Lizette Chin, VP/Group Publisher of Menswear and Luxury, and Charles Garone, Associate Publisher, reporting and writing news and feature stories. His role will be key to building MR-Mag.com as the leading informational platform for the menswear industry.
“We’re delighted to have John rejoin the MR team,” says Grossman. “His expertise in both the fashion and business sides of the menswear industry makes him uniquely qualified for this position. What’s more, his upbeat personality and positive energy are virtually contagious, inspiring all his work and all who work with him.”
Jones was the Fashion Director of MR Magazine from 2005 to 2012 and contributed to the company’s specialty retail publication for the Forum Group. He left the magazine to be the Vice President of Kenwerks, a creative fashion marketing agency. In 2017 he returned to the editorial world as a freelance writer for men’s lifestyle websites The Manual and AskMen, trade organization the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists, and retailers Trunk Club and Ron Robinson. He’s also created content for the MAGIC, PROJECT, and SOURCING trade shows. The FIT graduate (and president of the FIT Alumni Association) developed his passion for trade journalism while interning at LDB Interior Textiles and Young Fashions magazines, starting his career at legendary New York City retailer Charivari.
Woohoo! Congrats John and the MR team.
Fantastic news and a good addition to the mens lifestyle sector.
