Kaner Tapped for Personal Style Award in Dallas
LAS VEGAS – Joan Kaner, who has brought her uncanny fashion sense to stores including Neiman Marcus, Henri Bendel and Macy’s, will receive the Personal Style Award at the 31st annual Dallas Fashion Awards gala sponsored by the Dallas Market Center in Dallas on Oct. 28.
Kaner’s career, which began at Henri Bendel, has included extended stays at many of the most influential fashion retailers in the U.S. Most recently she was senior vice president and fashion director of Neiman Marcus, a post she held for 15 years. She also served as vice president and fashion director of Bergdorf Goodman and Macy’s Northeast.
“Joan Kaner is a legendary figure in the fashion industry who has shaped the world of luxury fashion throughout her career,” said Bill Winsor, president and chief executive of Dallas Market Center, in a statement.
Kaner has long been a member of the Fashion Group International, whose scholarship fund will benefit from a silent auction that will be held as part of the October event.
Kaner has also received the Eleanor Lambert Award from the CFDA.
The gala will be held in the new special events space of the DMC’s Trade Mart Atrium. Tickets are $135 each or $1,000 for tables of eight. Information is available at 214-672-8420.
