KOHL’S HONORED WITH ENVIRONMENTAL AWARDS

by John Russel Jones

Every April, people around the world celebrate Earth Month and consider the importance of protecting the planet. While Earth Month is recognized in April, making a lasting positive impact takes year-round effort. Kohl’s has instilled responsible practices throughout the company and has been honored with leading environmental awards.

Recently, Kohl’s was awarded an A—CDP Ranking for its 2023 Climate Change Response and recognized at the CDP’s Leadership Level, both for the fifth consecutive year. CDP, considered the gold standard of environmental reporting, is a nonprofit that operates a global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states, and regions to manage their environmental impacts.

Additionally, Kohl’s is one of only three retailers to be named a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR program 2024 Partner of the Year for Sustained Excellence in Energy Management and has been named to the list for over ten consecutive years. The EPA’s Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence is their highest honor, reserved for ENERGY STAR partners who demonstrate outstanding leadership year after year. The EPA has also recognized Kohl’s as a 2023 SmartWay High Performer, as 100% of our domestic miles are with SmartWay Carriers.
