LARRY HYMES DEPARTS MRKET SHOW

Larry Hymes, one of the partners who developed the West Coast Exclusive, which was purchased by Business Journals, Inc. and renamed MRket in 2007, has departed from the business after eight additional years working for BJI. He most recently held the position of Menswear Specialist for MRket.

Hymes, who had a serious car accident in April 2015, has had a long recovery period and told MR that it has “changed his perspective on life”. Citing his desire to quickly finish up the physical therapy and other treatments that are still part of his routine, Hymes said he thought this was a good time to take a break from the show business and change his lifestyle.

“I want to remain a part of the menswear business,” said Hymes. “But my focus will be on consulting with brands and companies that want to break in, expand distribution or change their current positioning.”

Hymes is well known and respected throughout the men’s industry. His long career has included being a rep on the east and west coasts and doing importing, in addition to being involved in the trade show business since 1998.
