LEVI’S HOSTS PRIDE EVENT AT SOHO STORE

by Stephen Garner

Levi’s hosted an intimate evening in celebration of Pride month on Wednesday night at its SoHo story in Manhattan.

The event featured a conversation with Leyna Bloom (model & actress), Brandon Flynn (artist), Oge Egbuonu (artist & filmmaker), Fresco Steez (designer & activist), and Maryse Pearce (Stonewall Community Foundation).

The evening also included a special screening of Bloom and Flynn’s Beauty of Becoming films, customization with exclusive Pride-themed trucker jackets and t-shirts. The panel conversation was live-streamed on Levi’s YouTube and is now available to view.

In Bloom’s Beauty of Becoming film, Bloom talks about her path to becoming a groundbreaking model and actress, breaking barriers like being the first openly transgender woman to feature in the pages of Vogue India, and using her journey to create opportunities for other people in the LGBTQI+ community.

In Flynn’s Beauty of Becoming film, Flynn discusses the moment that launched him into activism, his path to becoming an actor, and how he advocates for LGBTQI+ rights on and off the screen.

This event comes as the brand releases its 2021 Pride collection, which includes a range of unisex product that features a rainbow graphic inspired by the waving rainbow flag of the Castro District in San Francisco.

Standouts from the collection include the Levi’s Pride Liberation Trucker, a light wash indigo jacket with rainbow paneling and the words “they/them, she/her, he/him, we.” Levi’s Pride Liberation Shortalls, Levi’s Pride Relaxed Crewneck Sweatshirt, and the Levi’s Pride Sports Bra also feature an eye-catching rainbow print. Additionally, a limited edition run of Levi’s x Fresco Steez Customized Pride Trucker Jackets will be launching on June 16th exclusively on the Levi’s App.
