Mitchell, Braeger and 22 specialty retailers honored at Uptown Downtown awards dinner
NEW YORK – Jack Mitchell, chief executive officer of Mitchells, Richards & Marshs in Westport, Conn., and Dick Braeger, president and owner of Garys in Newport Beach, Calif., received MR Magazine’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Awards at the second annual Uptown/Downtown Awards dinner at the Four Seasons Restaurant on Monday, July 23.

ENK International, producer of The Collective and Blue trade shows in New York and other industry events, was corporate sponsor of the evening.
Mitchell and Braeger shared the evening with principals and other representatives of the 22 winners of the magazine’s Uptown/Downtown Awards for innovation and retail excellence. The lifetime winners and the 22 Uptown/Downtown honorees were profiled in the July issue of MR Magazine.
In addition to the two lifetime winners, the 22 stores honored at the gala were: American Rag, Andrisen Morton, Bergdorf Goodman, Caruso Caruso, The Closet, Cuffs, Dugger’s, Gene Hiller, Gorsuch Ltd., Holt Renfrew, James Davis, John Craig,, Levy’s, Lounge, Oslo’s, Peter Elliot, Rothmans, Rubensteins, Sy Devore, Syd Jerome, Traffic and Vinnie’s Styles.
