MR PORTER LAUNCHES MADE WITH CRAFT CAMPAIGN CELEBRATING GLOBAL ARTISANS AND HANDMADE SKILLS

by John Russel Jones

Online retailer Mr Porter has launched its Made with Craft campaign featuring a curated edit of seasonal products and exclusive capsule collections celebrating craftsmanship and artisanal skills. Today, exclusive styles are available from nine global brands that champion handmade qualities, each providing a unique point-of-view, craftsmanship sensibility, or manufacturing technique. Brands include A Kind of Guise, Corridor, Kardo, Kartik Research, Jacques Marie Mage, Story Mfg., Stòffa, SSAM, and The Elder Statesman.

Comprising more than 70 exclusive styles spanning ready-to-wear, accessories, jewelry, and homeware, the unique and distinct products champion artisan skills such as embroidery and embellishment alongside handwoven and dyed fabrications and hand-selected materials.

Among the curated edit of capsules are 16 styles from Jacques Marie Mage, including seven limited-edition spectacles and nine jewelry pieces from its The Last Frontier collection, a retail exclusive to Mr Porter. Acclaimed for its unparalleled craftsmanship and artistry, the eyewear is handmade in Japan and Italy and features intricate, hand-beaded temple sleeves. New to the brand, the limited-edition hand-crafted jewelry, featuring bracelets, rings, and pendant necklaces, honors the rich history of silversmithing and lapidary arts in the American Southwest, each taking over 18 months to complete.

Further highlights include an 11 and nine-piece exclusive capsule collection from casualwear brands Kartik Research and Kardo, both use heritage craft techniques with a focus on hand embroidery, embellishment and dyeing across camp-collar shirts, drawstring shorts, pleated trousers, and boxy jackets. A bright 15-piece exclusive capsule from The Elder Statesman features knitwear, hoodies, and overshirts crafted locally from hand-loomed cashmere in Los Angeles alongside a range of homeware items featuring two striped cashmere blankets, and a playful edit of stuffed animal toys: a whale, octopus, and fish with each animal handcrafted from deadstock cashmere.

“We are very proud to partner with some of our favorite brands to present a curated selection of products that champion our commitment to craftsmanship. The Made with Craft campaign celebrates artisanal techniques and the sense of creating with character, provenance, and purpose, which we know our customers value,” says Daniel Todd, Mr Porter’s buying director.

Each item will sit within Mr Porter’s Consciously Crafted edit, a curated assortment of brands and products championing craft, local communities, responsible manufacturing, and sustainable materials.

Made with Craft will launch today with dedicated editorial and social content across Mr Porter’s global platforms, including the online magazine The Journal and Instagram channel @mrporter.
