NAHMIAS COLLABORATES WITH DIGITAL ARTIST ANDRÉS REISINGER FOR CAPSULE AND STORE TAKEOVER AT MAXFIELD LOS ANGELES

Nahmias is collaborating with digital artist and designer Andrés Reisinger for a capsule collection and gallery takeover at Maxfield in Los Angeles, beginning today and running through March 7th, 2024. This collaboration marks a convergence of digital and physical artistry, as Reisinger’s digital artworks are transformed into wearable pieces within a capsule collection that will be an exclusive to the retailer.

The journey to this collaboration began in 2017, when young designer Doni Nahmias first stepped into Maxfield. “I was still so young and didn’t know much about the industry and designers, I was so uneducated,” recalls Nahmias. “But when I walked into that store, I instantly fell in love with it—the vibe, the prestige, the art.”

Since that transformative moment, Nahmias has embarked on a rollercoaster journey of highs and lows, with Maxfield serving as a beacon of inspiration and aspiration. “If it wasn’t for Maxfield, I don’t think I would be the designer I am today or have pushed my boundaries so hard,” reflects Nahmias. “Now, doing a gallery takeover with Maxfield for Nahmias and having the window display on Melrose—it’s moments like these that make it all worth it.”

The gallery takeover features an immersive interior design experience crafted in collaboration with the artist, unveiling a capsule collection born from the collective creativity of both artist and designer.  The collection marks his inaugural foray into the world of fashion as a canvas for his artistry. Reisinger blurs the boundaries between the digital and the physical, this time extending his vision to the realm of wearable art, breathing life into garments that serve as canvases for his digital artworks.

Within the capsule collection, a joint creation with Doni Nahmias, Pollen, Take Over, Blush, and Reisinger’s iconic apple symbol are woven into the garments, incorporating both literal and abstract references to their original digital forms. Enhancing the collection’s narrative, the physical installation serves to frame, complement, and reflect the essence of the collection, adding an additional layer of visual and tactile dimension.

“I’ve always believed in the transformative power of interdisciplinary collaboration—melding diverse realms of creativity to birth something unforeseen. Partnering with Doni has been nothing short of inspirational; I’m captivated by his sense of color, the kaleidoscope of influences he draws from music, California, sports, and the broader tapestry of pop culture. His visual language has been a compelling invitation to experiment with the unfamiliar—a true embodiment of what I believe creativity should be,” states Reisinger.

Doni Nahmias shares his heartfelt reflection, expressing, ” Driving past Maxfield every day and seeing Nahmias in the window and gallery of Maxfield will be surreal, as it’s a dream come true. I’ll take a moment each day to soak it in: pick up my oat milk cappuccino, sit on the curb, appreciate, and reflect on the journey to get to this point. It’s been a challenge for me to slow down and appreciate the wins in this industry, but this giant apple planted in the window forces that moment—to stop, stare, and reflect. This is a special moment, and I’m happy to share it with Andres.”
