New Men’s Store Headed To Downtown Charleston

The men’s clothing lines in downtown Charleston soon will see a little competition. Greenville-based Oobe plans to open its first flagship retail shop at 161 King St. before the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in February, according to Bob Yearick, who is overseeing the store’s opening. “With 22 years of experience, we are building on our history by launching a new apparel line and opening a store on historic King Street in Charleston,” the company proclaims on its website. “We feel like Charleston offers a good representation to a lot of the world of the richness of South Carolina in terms of the culture and experience with its beaches and history and food and shopping,” said co-founder and co-CEO Tom Merritt. “We like the idea of a retail presence in Charleston.” Read more at The Post and Courier.
