NORDSTROM TEAMS WITH BLACK-OWNED BROOKLYN FOR A POP-UP MARKET IN NYC
In honor of Black History Month, Nordstrom is launching an in-store only marketplace at its New York flagship in midtown starting Monday with Black-Owned Brooklyn, an online publication that spotlights and supports Black-owned businesses in the borough. The market, which runs through March 6, will feature eight brands across apparel, food, home goods and self-care including the unisex fashion streetwear brand Savant Studios (pictured), which was founded by designer Michael Graham in 2019 and offers T-shirts, hoodies, sweaters, pants, kimonos and varsity jackets, as well as a selection of leather and suede handbags.
The market will be part of Nordstrom’s Center Stage pop-up and is curated by Black-Owned Brooklyn’s husband-and-wife team, Tayo Giwa and Cynthia Gordy Giwa.
Other fashion-related brands in it include womenswear label Chen Burkett New York, accessories brand Heavy Metals NYC, nail lacquer Breukelen Polished and lifestyle brand Sarep and Rose.
