Obituary: Bob Hunter
Many of us in the menswear industry are saddened to learn of the passing of Bob Hunter on June 12 at the age of 72, a top industry exec for several decades. Bob started his career at Pierre Cardin in its heyday, then moved upscale to Giorgio Armani. For his last ten years in the industry, he was VP of sales at Tombolini.
“He was a very witty and funny guy,” says Stewart Golden, EVP of Tailorbyrd. “Plus he did a lot of charity work since he retired and moved to Florida seven years ago. Bob will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him.”
Arlene, his wife of 48 years, confirms his sense of humor. “He was always joking with people and he maintained an amazingly positive outlook on life, even throughout his illness.”
In addition to Arlene, Bob is survived by two daughters, Candice and Jamie, and a son-in-law Jeff. For those so inclined, donations in his memory can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
