PITTI UOMO DAY TWO – STREET STYLE

by William Buckley

Unlike today which rained incessantly, yesterday at Pitti Uomo was as sunny as a late spring day and equally as warm. The fashion folk probably didn’t need those big wool and cashmere overcoats, but after lugging them across land, sea and sky, by Jove, they’d wear them anyway. And they looked good, of course, and a little perspiration never hurt anyone. Without a doubt, those statement overcoats were the staple of the season, along with sport coats and vests. Layered denim under tailored items were everywhere, and a notable mention of those little white buttons by Lubiam: Luigi Bianchi Mantova and L.B.M. 1911: they were one of the stars of the show for sure. Hats were an equally essential accessory, wide brimmed in colorful felt, and despite a herald of the end of facial hair and a bidding goodbye to that ubiquitous ‘man bun’, both were still showing strong signs of life among the Italian stylish set.
