REKS OPTICS LAUNCHES NEW LINE OF UNBREAKABLE SUNGLASSES

by Brian Lipton

Reks OpticsFlorida-based REKS Optics has launched a new line of sunglasses, featuring six unbreakable classic frame styles and three proprietary, high-grade shatter-resistant polycarbonate lenses and performance coatings. The line is priced from $30 to $60; it is currently available via online, and will be launched at select retailers later this year.

The company’s proprietary lenses are Solux, which are up to 10 times more impact resistant than plastic or glass lenses and include anti-scratch, hydrophobic and anti-reflective coatings; Lumolux, which reduce irritating reflections and eliminate glare caused by light reflected from water, road, sand or snow, while absorbing 100 percent UV 400 light rays and eliminating 99 percent of glare; and Chromalux, a photochromic lens that darkens in the sun and lightens in the shade, continuously adjusting to changing light conditions, creating the perfect transitioning tint for any lighting situation.

“The cost of good quality sunglasses has made fine optical products out of reach for many, but REKS Optics has brought together innovative frame technology and superior lens manufacturing to offer best-in-class optics at affordable prices,” says REKS Optics founder and CEO George Granoff. “We are here to invigorate the industry with fresh ideas that provide quality, durability, style and accessible pricing for the sunglass enthusiast.”
