REPORT FROM NEW ORLEANS: HERE WE GO AGAIN
MR received a quick call this week from David Rubenstein of Rubensteins in New Orleans. The good news: no one among his immediate family/friends/employees has been physically hurt by the storm, although most experienced varying degrees of downed trees and other forms of hurricane destruction, the wrath of Ida.
The bad news: the AT&T power station was completely wiped out and they will be without electricity for several weeks. Rubenstein’s wants their suppliers to know that the store will be officially closed for the next three weeks as they give employees time to take care of the damage at home. “We’re asking our vendors not to ship anything for the next three weeks as there will be no one at the store to receive goods, pay for them or shop for them.”
MR wishes the Rubensteins team and all our retailer and vendor friends in Louisiana, Mississippi, and other hard-hit states a full recovery and speedy return to healthy business!
I couldn’t help but think of all our friends effected and deviated by this horrific storm. 😢
My prayers are being sent daily to you all. 🙏🥰
If we can build domes over large stadiums, we need a New Orleans City Dome that can be engaged from below the ground below and above the entire city. Built to withstand high winds and torrential rain… If we can walk on the moon and land on Mars, we can figure this out..!! #saveingneworleans
Be safe my friends…. Sending positive vibes from Cali to you’all …🥰♥️🙏😎
Best of luck. What a terrible re-run. But you WILL move forward.
I know the shock. In October’05 we were struck my Wilma and a tornado. Pretty much lost most of our inventory.
But with the cooperation of friends and vendors we made it back.
God bless
As always, Karen, you lead with your heart. Prayers for all.
Great plan and sentiments David…..You’ve done it before and you’ll do it again !! Stay strong and tough…. our thoughts are with you for a speedy return !!
Best regards,
Barry
