SALVATORE FERRAGAMO UNVEILS NEW MEN’S EYEWEAR CAPSULE

by Stephen Garner

Salvatore Ferragamo has joined forces with four leading creatives – three designers and one photographer – to launch a new capsule of men’s eyewear for spring/summer 2019.

In a series of short films to be shared across Ferragamo’s digital channels, these young talents reveal their creative visions and professional philosophies. And while each individual is very different, they share something fundamental: a prism of Italian-ness. Just as for Salvatore Ferragamo itself, the culture, language, and history of Italy informs everything they do.

These four ambassadors in the brand’s new #ItalianExcellence films are landscape designer Derek Castiglioni; furniture designer Francesco Meda; photographer Guido Taroni; and interior designer Rodrigo Izquierdo.

“Family is one of the key facets of Italian culture and I’m delighted to welcome four new members to the Ferragamo family today,” said Paul Andrew, creative director of Salvatore Ferragamo. “To create 2019’s men’s eyewear capsule we researched archival shapes from the 1950’s and 1960’s, then combined ultramodern materials with the Gancini emblem of the house to build a line of products that embody the values of Italian excellence that are both timeless and contemporary. Those values are shared by Derek, Francesco, Guido and Rodrigo: four brilliant individuals who share a deep connection forged by Italian culture.”
