SAMMY HAGAR TO JOIN JOHN VARVATOS FOR STUART HOUSE BENEFIT IN L.A.
Legendary rock star Sammy Hagar will headline a benefit concert for Stuart House outside the John Varvatos boutique at 8800 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles on the afternoon of Sunday, April 17.
The event, which also features shopping, live and silent auctions and other activities are sponsored by Chrysler and Hasbro Studies. Varvatos is an honorary chair alongside actors Sofia Vergara and Joe Managaniello. Additional performers will include Michael Anthony, Chard Smith, and Vic Johnson.
Stuart House is an innovative, model program created by the Rape Treatment Center at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center to serve the special needs of sexually abused children. It brings together police, prosecutors and other child protection personnel in a child-friendly facility to expedite investigations and enhance the treatment of child victims, and also provides 24-hour medical care and evidentiary examinations, and comprehensive therapy, advocacy and other support services to help children heal from the traumatic effects of sexual abuse. All Stuart House services are free to child victims and their families.
Hagar has been performing on stage for nearly 50 years. In addition to his solo work, he is best known for his stint with top-selling band Van Halen, and became a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when the band was inducted in 2007. He currently is a member of the bands Chickenfoot and The Circle.
