Schettino, Six Others Promoted to VP Posts at Mervyns
NEW YORK – Gary Schettino has been promoted to vice president and merchandise manager of men’s apparel at Mervyns, the 187-unit specialty department store chain based in Hayward, Calif.
Schettino joined Mervyns as divisional merchandise manager of men’s last August after serving as senior vice president of Guess. Prior to that, he was president of Mr. Rags, the Los Angeles-based specialty store group. Earlier in his career he was with Macy’s West, Marshall’s and Kaufmann’s, among other stores.
Also promoted to new vice presidential posts at Mervyns were: David Kranz, merchandise manager for misses apparel; Julie Tomasi, MM of jewelry, accessories and intimate apparel; Dana Allison, supply chain; Michelle Belasco, human resources; Kathleen Martinez, merchandise planning for women’s ready-to-wear; and Amanda Riley, assistant general counsel and assistant secretary.
