[metaslider id=118784] Amsterdam-based fashion brand Scotch & Soda returned to New York Fashion Week this past weekend with its spring/summer 2017 presentation at the Angel Orensanz Center for the Arts on the Lower East Side.

The newest collection, entitled “The World According to Heavenly Creatures”, is inspired by the lushes to the harshest of natural habitats.

“We discovered these amazing illustrations dating back to 1590 by the Dutch astrologer and cartographer, Petrus Plancius,” explained Marlou van Engelen, creative director of Scotch & Soda. “He mapped the world according to the animals he found there. This find sparked us to see the world through different eyes – through eyes of nature’s creatures. We also finished several looks with our creature-eye motif appliqué – a wink to the way we see the whole collection.”

Men’s looks featured wide short styles, three-quarter length pants with rope-tie waists, sleeveless capes and shirts in batik and bloom prints in earthy and subdued colors.
