SID MASHBURN OPENS SHOP IN SANTA MONICA’S BRENTWOOD COUNTRY MART
Acclaimed men’s designer and retailer Sid Mashburn has opened his first West Coast location at the Brentwood Country Mart in Santa Monica, California as part of his continued retail expansion.
The 750 square-foot shop, located at 225 26th Street, offers Sid Mashburn-designed tailored clothing, sportswear, outerwear, shoes and accessories, along with a tightly curated selection of outside classic and iconic brands including Edward Green, Levi’s, A.P.C., Globetrotter, Drake’s, Tretorn, Timex and more. The store also carries vinyl records, audio equipment, Swiss Army knives, small leather goods and other unique gifting items. Additionally, there is a by-appointment Made-to-Measure space and a separate 500 square-foot Tailor Shop on the second story, a trademark of the Sid Mashburn shops.
Mashburn, in partnership with wife Ann Mashburn and their in-house architect, designed the space to play off of the existing design features seen in the Brentwood Country Mart, built in a barn aesthetic in the late 1940s. The interior décor stays true to the masculine and eccentric atmosphere seen throughout Mashburn’s four other shops, with seagrass carpeting, vintage Turkish kilims, dark grey custom wooden fixtures, tartan curtains, glass skylights, and the building’s original redwood ceiling beams.

“We love the friendliness and warmth of Brentwood. They’ve done a great job of establishing – and sustaining – a real community vibe, one that we’re excited to join,” says Mashburn. “We’re super excited to open in LA. When I’m here, it’s easy to be in a good mood – this place is happier than the morning sun. We have an incredible customer base here… and in a way, we feel like we’ve been invited.”
The brand also intends to expand the Ann Mashburn brick-and-mortar presence to Los Angeles, with hopes to open a complementary women’s shop in the near future.
