SPERRY X ROWING BLAZERS COLLABORATION UPDATES THE CLASSIC BOAT SHOE
In our January print issue, we promised you that The New Prep was a trend to watch for 2023, and we’re feeling pretty good about ourselves right now: the required iconic preppy footwear brand Sperry, has teamed up with Rowing Blazers — an ivy-inspired brand that is well on its way to becoming iconic itself — to create a fresh take on Sperry’s classic Authentic Original boat shoe (invented in 1935).
The collaboration launches today on both brands’ websites. The Sperry x Rowing Blazers shoe (MSRP $130) is a 3-eye boat shoe that features wide wale corduroy uppers and is available in 3 colorways; navy, ivory, or two-tone brown /green. A traditional leather welt construction and chunky Vibram lug outsoles give the shoe a distinctly modern look.
The two American brands have been collaborating since 2017, with Rowing Blazers spinning their modern prep aesthetic onto Sperry’s classic styles, blending tradition, authenticity, and a sense of adventure.
