SPONSORED: WHY ITALIAN SPORTSWEAR BRAND SCARCI IS A MUST-SEE THIS SEASON

by MR Magazine Staff

You may have heard all about the luxury Italian sportswear brand founded by former boy band member Kevin Swan and a few partners right here in MR back in 2017. But, since we’ve last spoken, Swan has not been resting on his laurels.

With the exponential growth of the brand, SCARCI comes to market this season with a new re-focus, moving from solely a “resortwear brand” to a full “sportswear brand.” “As the brand grew into more performance-based products, sportswear became a better defining category term for the brand, while resort wear became the defining collection,” Swan tells us.

Indeed, the product line has come a long way since the brand’s inception in 2012. “Our first collection inspired by yacht life was a collection of quality t-shirts and dress linen shirts with a heavy focus on jacquard textures throughout,” he mentions. “Many years and several collections later, SCARCI has become a full ready-to-wear lifestyle brand and expanding into additional categories of casual trousers, shorts, lightweight sweaters, sports coats, polos, and performance button-up shirts. All this and the initial objective still remains true, ‘to build a top-quality product, defining style through unique fabrics, consistent fit, and impeccable customer service’.”

Further, the brand is even moving into unconstructed sport coats. While its initial launch of unconstructed sportscoats are arriving this season, SCARCI has been perfecting this fabric and coat for several years and we are excited to share its debut with two beautiful coats. The first, a lightweight 100 percent Italian cotton waffle knit sports coat that makes the perfect casual travel companion. It is breathable and does not wrinkle, making it easy to stash in your overhead compartment and universal for changing climates. The second coat is made in a beautiful cotton/polyamide blend, giving it great stretch and making it extremely soft to the hand. Designed in a light slate base color with a horizontal white stripe to elongate the body shape. This coat pairs well with a trim office trouser or an evening out with the guys in a great classic denim fabric.

SCARCI is also staying true to its roots with continuing to produce everything in Italy from fine fabrics. For fall/winter 2020, SCARCI is showing a collection of lightweight cotton wovens with a soft, peach feel fabric by Albini, lightweight cashmere and silk blended pullover sweaters, 100 percent Merino wool sweaters in polo, zip-up and classic cardigan and SCARCI’s iconic silk/cotton blend collection of v-neck and crew neck dress tees. Retail prices range from $180 to $999.

And, now, making its East Coast debut at The Tents at Project, interested buyers can stop by SCARCI’s booth, number 167 during New York market week at the Javits Center, January 19th-21st.
