STRONG SUIT DEBUTS COLLECTION WITH CELEBRITY STYLIST ILARIA URBINATI
For spring 2018, men’s suit brand Strong Suit has unveiled its debut capsule collection with renowned celebrity stylist Ilaria Urbinati – whose clients include Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper and Armie Hammer, among other best-dressed stars in Hollywood. This season, Urbinati joins forces with long-time friend Jamie Davidson, founder and creative director of Strong Suit, for the first time to create a highly covetable collection of suits at an attainable price point.
The limited-edition Strong Suit by Ilaria Urbinati collection launches exclusively at the newly opened Nordstrom Men’s Store in New York City, featuring a capsule of men’s suits, sport coats, dress shirts and ties designed by Urbinati, alongside Davidson, to reflect her keen eye for menswear. Featuring high-quality Italian fabrics, suit prices range from $695 to $995 and the dress shirts retail for $125.
“I’ve been wanting to get back to suits for a long time,” said Urbinati. “I basically put suits on people all day long so I know what guys want. The pant rise is higher, the lapel is wider, and the buttons are higher. I worked a lot with the texture of the fabrics and the details. With menswear, the details really matter. This collection is special, but not showy.”
“Unlike many collaborations, where a celebrity will just stick his or her name on existing models, Urbinati was intimately involved in every aspect of the creation of the line — from choosing the fabrics to selecting the detailing, even updating the silhouette,” added Davidson. “She cares about the substance of the clothes, not the branding. So, I’m incredibly grateful that she decided to work with a little start-up from Little Rock.”
