STUTTERHEIM AND ALPHA INDUSTRIES TEAM UP AGAIN FOR OUTERWEAR CAPSULE

by Stephen Garner

For the third time, Swedish premium rainwear company Stutterheim has teamed up with American outerwear brand Alpha Industries on a new capsule collection.

The collection is based on two classic Alpha styles, the ECWCS unisex parka and the N-2B short waist parka, both made in a slightly lighter version of the original rubberized cotton used for all Stutterheim classics. The fabric itself and the double-welded seams make this style 100 percent waterproof. Both unisex styles come in black and maroon versions.

“Alpha is a very fascinating brand with a rich history,” said Alexander Stutterheim, founder and creative director at Stutterheim. “It’s inspiring to see how they have managed to stay consistent in what they do for so long. We share a lot of views on the importance of simplicity and functionality when it comes to design. Our collaboration is a result of this, with pieces showing the great symbiosis of Alpha’s timeless, street-feel design, and Stutterheim’s contemporary, quality-focused way of working.”

”At Alpha, we like to work with people who are focused and have a true passion for what they do,” added Matt Pantoja, VP Global Marketing at Alpha Industries. “Stutterheim is definitely doing both successfully. Our mutual preference for utilitarian and timeless design makes this collaboration a perfect match. For us, it’s inspiring to see some of our most iconic pieces being reinterpreted to offer protection against the worst kind of weather.”

The Stutterheim x Alpha Industries coats, which retail between $475 and $525, will be available in a limited quantity at stutterheim.com and in Stutterheim flagship stores in Stockholm and New York, alongside selected retailers globally.
