SUNSPEL AND NIGEL CABOURN LAUNCH EXCLUSIVE COLLABORATION
Sunspel, renowned for its fabric innovation and timeless design, has joined forces with acclaimed British designer Nigel Cabourn to create an exclusive nine-piece capsule collection. This collaboration is a unique fusion of Sunspel’s heritage and Cabourn’s distinctive design ethos, characterized by meticulous craftsmanship and a nod to British military styles.
David Telfer, Sunspel’s Creative Director, highlights the essence of this collaboration: “We’ve taken our iconic pieces – the Classic T-shirt, Boxer Short, and warp knit mesh fabrics – and reimagined them through Nigel Cabourn’s distinctive lens. The result is a perfect harmony of top-quality fabrics and a heritage aesthetic that’s both timeless and contemporary.”
Nigel Cabourn adds, “My passion for crafting authentic British styles led me to collaborate with Sunspel. Drawing from vintage British Army and Navy influences and incorporating sportswear elements, this capsule truly reflects themes I’ve embraced throughout my career.”
The collection showcases Sunspel’s craftsmanship with items like the T-shirt made from Californian Supima cotton in their Long Eaton factory. A 1940s Henley from the Sunspel archives inspires reworked Henley and vest designs. The sweatpants and sweatshirt feature an extra-soft brushed cotton loopback, while Cabourn’s signature ripstop fabric is skillfully used in a jacket and smock top. The ripstop shorts, inspired by vintage military undergarments and Sunspel’s original 1947 British Boxer Short, round off the collection.
