TAILORED CLOTHING SALES SUPERSTAR MICHAEL ROBBINS DIES AT 73
MR magazine is sad to report that super salesman Michael Robbins died on July 1 at age 73.
Born on January 13, 1943, Robbins started his career in the tailored clothing industry in 1975, working for Clinton Swan. He also sold suits for Leon of Paris, Caravelle, Globe and Adolfo, always breaking sales records wherever he went and generating millions of dollars in volume for those companies fortunate enough to employ him.
Says Ron Wurtzburger of Peerless Clothing: “Michael was the ultimate salesman. He never met a customer he couldn’t sell.”
Adds Stewart Golden of Tailorbyrd: “In addition to his brilliant sales ability, Michael worked hard, he played hard and he was a lot of fun. We travelled together for more than four years and it was always an experience.”
Michael is survived by his wife Ellen, his children, Andrew Robbins and Jennifer Hoffman, Andrew’s wife Kelly Paredes, Jennifer’s husband Jason Hoffman, his granddaughter Kate Hoffman and his brother Steven Robbins.
A memorial service was held on July 3rd. A force in the industry and in life, Michael Robbins will be greatly missed.
May his soul rest in peace and that same peace be with his family.
Recall buying from him at Clinton Swan & Leon de Paris back in the day.
