‘THE KING OF VINTAGE’ TO POP-UP AT FRED SEGAL MALIBU

Fred Segal will be hosting an exclusive pop-up curated by the King of Vintage, Cameron Silver, at its Malibu Village store from June 10th-13th.

The special pop-up includes men’s and women’s designer vintage styles from Silver’s retail shop, Decades, including aloha prints, Pucci, Missoni, caftans, and more. A curated selection of many independent locally-made sustainable and upcycled designers, such as Aquarius Cocktail, Amber Sakai, Carolina Santo Domingo, Malibu Sandals JungleGurl, ReWeave, Vada, and more will also be on display.

Widely recognized for his impact on runway trends from fashion’s new generation of designers in New York and Paris, to the way a constellation of Hollywood’s brightest appear on the red carpet, Silver is the owner of Decades Vintage, a world leader in the sale of pre-loved vintage, neo-vintage and contemporary designer clothing. And, fun fact: Silver worked at Fred Segal in high school, it was his first retail job!

“Fred Segal has been the quintessential destination for L.A. style since 1961,” Silver tells MR. “I worked there while in high school and learned so much about retail.  It is such an organic collaboration that I even have my vintage Fred Segal tee to wear while popping up in Malibu.”

Asked how he chose the pieces to highlight for this particular shop, Silver says, “I understand the Malibu customer and elevated casual dressing so we have sustainable goodies ranging from elevated swimwear to embellished caftans and kimonos that go from the après plage to dinner at Nobu.  Even if you don’t live in the ‘Bu, a vintage Aloha shirt with Hammie’s shorts is the perfect summer uniform.”
