The urban tourist

It comes as no surprise that the latest capsule collection from Urban Outfitters is with popular design duo Ben and Doug Burkman of the Burkman Bros. The trend-driven retailer has been known for collaborating with higher-end lines like Steven Alan, J. Press and Filson. The Tourist is a three-season deal which launched in stores and online for spring 2012. Not straying far from the themes of their higher-end offering, the Burkmans were inspired by exotic travel, specifically from a recent trip to the Greek isle of Santorini. Standouts from the 11-piece collection include mixed striped Henley T-shirts ($49 retail), printed khaki shorts ($59 retail), popover woven shirts ($59 retail) and their signature woven beach bracelets ($12 retail). Urban Outfitters introduced the line with a kick-off party last week at the newest Manhattan outpost on Fifth Avenue.
