Men In This Town

For the last decade, Giuseppe Santamaria, the man behind menswear blog Men In This Town, has observed and recorded the men of big cities while they cross streets, sit at cafes and pose, momentarily, on busy sidewalks. Traveling the continents, Santamaria has documented the evolution of men’s identities, communicated through their attitude and style as they move through their different concrete jungles.

Now, the photographer is captivating the fashion-obsessed in a new medium with his debut book Men In This Town: A Decade of Men’s Street Style. The book showcases exciting menswear and cultural shifts over the last ten years.

With photos shot in Sydney, New York, Tokyo, Milan, London, Melbourne, Toronto, L.A., Madrid, Florence, and Paris, this collection is a truly global retrospective of men’s street fashion. Filled with striking photographs, Men In This Town is a record of the men who stick out in a crowd with their particular sense of just who and what they are.

The author’s keen observations give an insider glimpse of street style worn by the young, old, and culturally diverse.  The book candidly captures slices of men’s everyday moments from eating at a café to strolling city streets. Each section highlights a trend ranging from wide-brimmed hats to Indigenous designs to street art wear. Men In This Town is a must-read for lovers of fashion and photography.

“Clothes became canvases and the streets became the galleries,” said Santamaria.
