TIE THE KNOT’S JESSE TYLER FERGUSON TO BE HONORED AT THEATRE FORWARD GALA
Actor and Tie the Knot co-founder Jesse Tyler Ferguson will be honored with the Theatre Artist Award at Theatre Forward’s Chairman’s Awards Gala, to be held at the Pierre Hotel on Monday, April 11.
Tie The Knot, which creates and sells limited-edition bow ties, was founded in 2012 by Ferguson and husband Justin Mikita with the ultimate goal of advocating for and helping to win marriage equality across the United States. Proceeds from sales of its products go to various organizations involved in the fight for equal rights. The company collaborates with Chicago-based The Tie Bar, which sells the product, and has utilized such guest designers as Isaac Mizrahi, Billy Reid, Cyndi Lauper, and Josh Hutcherson.
Ferguson is currently starring on Broadway in Becky Mode’s multi-character solo show, Fully Committed, and his previous Broadway credits include On the Town and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He is best known for his role as Mitchell Pritchard on the hit ABC sitcom Modern Family.
