Toms Announces First Two-Week ‘One Day Without Shoes’ Campaign
By Erik DeFruscio
From May 5th to the 21st, Toms Shoes is holding its 8th annual ‘One Day without Shoes’ campaign. During these dates, Instagram users will post a picture of their bare feet with the hashtag #withoutshoes to give a new pair of shoes to a child in need.
This year’s campaign is the first that will span two weeks, and also the first time that the brand is giving away pairs of shoes without a necessary purchase. Toms will give away up to 1 million pairs of shoes and limits the campaign to one photo per person via Instagram.
Toms is holding the campaign to raise awareness for children’s health and education. Shoes can increase access to education, help treat disease, protect feet from illness, improve learning ability, provide comfort and can encourage healthy lifestyles.
On Thursday, May 21 Toms will post the number of shoes that users helped donate on their website.
