TONY ARCABASCIO JOINS BUSCEMI AS ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
American-based design house Buscemi has appointed fashion industry veteran Tony Arcabascio as its new Artistic Director.
Buscemi, which produces men’s, women’s and children’s footwear and small leather goods, was founded in 2013 by Jon Buscemi. It is sold in numerous department and specialty stores, as well as online.
Arcabascio started his career as a graffiti artist and t-shirt graphic designer, and then worked on fashion publications Sportswear International and Jane Magazine. He is best known for co-founding the fabled streetwear brand Alife in 1999, headquartered in New York City on Orchard Street, as well as the world renowned sneaker boutique Alife Rivington Club in 2001. Most recently, he has worked on collaborations with The Standard Hotel, Adidas, and Levi’s.
“Tony joining the team really rounds out the authenticity in our global marketing department, and his artistic direction is something we have been looking for since the inception of the brand,” said Buscemi. “Working with such a massive talent like Tony is a huge complement to our brand.
