NEW YORK – Trudy Larson has joined JA Apparel Corp., owners of the Joseph Abboud and JOE Joseph Abboud trademarks, in the new post of vice president of marketing.

She will oversee all advertising, media, public relations, events, promotions, packaging and trade shows for the company and report to Marty Staff, president and chief executive officer of the company.

“We’re very excited to have Trudy joining our executive team, and feel that her marketing experience and talent will play an important role as we continue to strengthen and expand our brands,” said Staff.

Larson was most recently vice president and creative director for CJ Apparel Group, formerly Apparel Holdings Group, with responsibility for marketing and licensing of its Caribbean Joe, Periscope, DNA and Cupid’s Cup brands. Earlier in her career she was VP of marketing for Candie’s (now Iconix Brand Group) and oversaw marketing of the Candie’s and Bongo brands. She also was instrumental in the launching of The Candie’s Foundation.

According to the company, the Joseph Abboud brand and its offshoots are responsible for more than $300 million in worldwide retail sales.
