VON MAUR TO HOST GRAND OPENING OF ROCHESTER HILLS, MICH., LOCATION
Midwestern department store chain Von Maur will host the grand opening of its 36th store on Saturday, March 19th, at The Village of Rochester Hills, a premium outdoor shopping center near Detroit, Mich. At 122,000 square feet, the two-level department store will employ around 150 associates in this, its fourth, Michigan location. The new facility includes an expansive shoe department, a wide assortment of cosmetics and beauty brands, a children’s department, men’s suit shop, home decor and a collection of the latest fashion brands and accessories by Polo Ralph Lauren, Lilly Pulitzer, Vince Camuto, Tommy Bahama, Vineyard Vines, Louis Vuitton, Hugo Boss, Coach, and many others. The Von Maur store is the first new department store to open in the Metro-Detroit area since 2008. The private company is still operated by the founding family.

The Von Maur family opened its first store in the late 1800s in a rented 20 by 50 feet space in Davenport, Iowa. Today, 36 Von Maur stores are scattered across 15 states: Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas City, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma and Wisconsin; with corporate headquarters and ecommerce still proudly located in Davenport.
The Village of Rochester Hills is an award-winning outdoor lifestyle shopping center in metropolitan Detroit. Developed in 2002 by Robert B. Aikens & Associates, LLC, the 375,000-square-foot property is co-anchored by Whole Foods and Von Maur, and also includes Sephora, Lululemon, Banana Republic, Eddie Bauer, and other retailers, as well as a broad selection of dining options. The center features a walkable, pedestrian friendly streetscape, beautiful fountain and firepit, lush gardens and an outdoor park that is home to signature events and community activities.
