WORLD MARKETING TO LAUNCH STEVE HARVEY SPORTSWEAR LINE
He’s got a radio show, a TV talk show and he hosts the “Family Feud” game show. Now media personality and comedian Steve Harvey is also going to have a signature clothing line.
World Marketing Inc, a developer and designer of consumer goods, has inked a deal with the entertainer to produce the Steve Harvey sportswear collection, which will debut in stores for spring 2016.
The initial offering will consist of approximately 60 styles over three deliveries and include shirts, pants, shorts, vests, unconstructed jackets and more in linens, cottons, seersuckers and other blends. Key items will be solid and printed knits and wovens, jackets and coordinates.
Retail prices will range from $30 to $45 for shirts and pants and $50 to $120 for jackets and vests. World Marketing says that it is already in discussion with “a few national retailers (but we don’t like to boast)” to carry the collection. Spokesman Neil Mossberg adds about planned distribution: “It’s a whole new world; the product will follow Mr. Harvey’s energy and broad appeal. If he can deliver four TV shows on two networks, a radio show and over 8 million followers across his social media platform, we will be able to place the collection in multiple retail outlets including a robust DTC platform.”
“The sportswear line is going to reflect the broad audience he reaches, and it will reflect his excitement and enthusiasm. It is going to give that great feeling Harvey delivers to millions on a daily basis,” adds World Marketing president Jerry Mossberg.
Jeff Lessner a 30-year veteran of the men’s biz, is heading the new division.
