TODD SNYDER OPENS FIFTH NYC LOCATION

by John Russel Jones

Todd Snyder has opened his fifth New York City store on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Located at 1165 Madison Ave, the 2,700-square-foot shopping destination offers a curated assortment of men’s ready-to-wear, footwear, jewelry, apothecary, and accessories from iconic brands. This location features unique services and personalized shopping experiences, like the brand’s Made-To-Measure Service and a shop-in-shop with New York-based eyewear brand, Moscot.

“Our goal is to build the ultimate and unparalleled menswear destination in New York City,” says Todd Snyder, Founder and President. “We’ve strategically built an extraordinary client base in New York City – many of whom reside on the Upper East Side and who either frequent one of our other locations or shop with us online. With this new location, we are bringing a highly curated luxury mens destination to Madison Avenue, with a high focus on personalized services and experiences. We’re thrilled to bring the world of Todd Snyder to their neighborhood and become part of their local shopping experience.”

“Madison Avenue is experiencing a retail revival, with menswear playing a significant role. We are perfectly tailored for the Uptown professional—mature men who appreciate sophistication, as well as high-end shoppers who prioritize quality and craftsmanship,” says Alejandro Rhett, Chief Product Officer. “This locale offers the brand a way to connect with a discerning clientele that appreciates both timeless style and a curated shopping experience.”

Luxury Assortment

The new Upper East Side location presents a thoughtfully curated assortment of elevated and luxe products. The store features a comprehensive tailoring shop with an extended range of suiting, sport coats, ties, pocket squares, and in-house Made-To-Measure services. It also offers top-tier outerwear, luxe essentials like selvedge chinos, denim, and Italian shirting, along with a broader selection of premium cashmere, from sweaters to structured chore coats. The store also stocks a collection of dress and casual footwear from brands Alden, Rubinacci, Sanders, New Balance, and Nike. Additionally, the store will regularly update its collection of vintage luxury timepieces and jewelry in collaboration with Foundwell, and it will showcase Todd’s ongoing partnership with the New York City-based brand Moscot, featuring a shop-in-shop of high-quality eyewear.

Store Design

When designing this location, Snyder and head of store design, Erik Berndt, drew inspiration from shopping trips to Paris and their favorite hotels, bars, and lounges throughout the city. They aimed to create their interpretation of a pied-à-terre, using the brand’s distinct visual identity to bring the concept to life.

● The store’s grand custom marble fireplace from Jamb London is beautifully complemented by Roman and Williams Guild globe lighting, which enhances the custom handcrafted cases and cabinetry from London throughout.
● The brand commissioned noted fine artist, Dean Barger, to paint a decorative twenty-foot interior mural inspired by the French countryside alongside an elegantly crafted bar positioned near the rear of the store.
● Each room is adorned with rare 19th and 20th century antiques sourced from London, Paris, Round Top and NYC. Notable pieces include a Utrecht Sofa by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld for Cassina, and a Provincial Louis XV Style Burl Elm and Fruitwood Farm Table.
● Unexpected artwork and objects hand-curated in partnership with Corey Daniels Gallery in Maine, appear throughout the store to create a fun and visually stimulating shopping experience. Notable works include original Nigel O’Neill abstract graphite drawings.
● Curtains and upholstery by London based Rose Uniacke were meticulously selected to provide the ideal color and mix of textures, adding a subtle softness to the store’s design. Rugs by the New York City-based ABC Carpet and Home lay atop custom chevron striped natural oak floors.

The store will be open Monday through Saturday 10am to 6pm and on Sunday from 11am to 5pm. This location offers private shopping appointments, same-day courier services and in-house tailoring.
